假如你不用assembly language，你的程序和原来一样快。
我用assembly language写程序，出来的程序速度快你几倍。
市场会接受你的程序还是我的程序？
I agree with you that you may not be able to speed up much your program with multiple processors if your code is for single processor machines. My point is that the lower level stuff shall take the responsibility to take care of parallel computation.
Modern software programs are often very complicated. The code that is easy to wirte, read, debug, reuse, ... is prevailing and will prevail for ever. Hehehehe.
