the art market in china today are made up by following groups
1. the speculators who want to make quick bucks in somewhat short turn around
2. the parties buy arts and use it as briberies which also would help if even appricates the value in time
prob: what is the reference on value if you expect to appreciate: there is no known and well established references in the current china market as it is
so they make up one: auction market
since the guys do auctions make money in and out, they do not care
since the sellers trying to mark their value, they do not mind
since the buyers do not intend to hold on to their "merchandises" for long, and they have no choices for alternative references, they don't mind or even care either
it is not going to work for long because outside china, no real creaditable collectors would do the same
so as long as there still is a cash flow around the art market in china and arbitarily set thehype there. some will make money, other will get hurt in time...
so either get in and out quick make your flash investments paying off, or simply wait for the real market mechanism is in place, when you have real collectors come to set the trends
