DEsc<x>riptION OF DUTIES IN ADDITION TO THOSE IN JOB DEsc<x>riptION:
The individual filling this position will deliver local Board level hardware design support to
AMD’s graphic card manufacturing partners.
- Review and assist in creating customer Schematic and Layout designs at both partner
sites and AMD offices
- Hands-on bring-up and trouble-shooting graphic card hardware both at partner sites and
AMD offices
- Evaluate the use of alternate HW components (PWM, FET, E-Caps, Memory
Devices …etc) for partner’s second source requirements
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or their equivalents.
- 5 to 7 years of in depth hi-speed Analog and Digital circuit board design experience
- 3+ years DC-DC power supply (up to 100W) and components (PWM, FET, Inductors,
Capacitors…etc) design experience
- In-depth understanding of Hi-speed, Low-noise PCB layout in the areas of Trace
impedance matching, Trace length matching, Via / X-plane effects, High current power
regulator layout, Power Plane distribution, Power and switching noise reduction strategy,
Signal Integrity enhancement, EMC design techniques. Familiar with the use of OrCAD
and Allegro software tools
- Proficient in using PC in Dos and Windows environments
- Highly effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with colleagues and
customers
- Be able to communicate in English
