SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER (PURCHASING, PLANNING/LOGISTICS)
POSITION PROFILE
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
SUBORDINATES: 16
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary mandate for the Supply Chain Manager will be to set up and manage the buying activities (mainly electronics, mechanical, plastic parts and sub-assemblies) for around 11.02M RMB per year, and achieve the three main operational objectives: quality improvement, cost reduction and “on time” delivery.
The Supply Chain Manager will also work closely with the current Operations Manager.
In this respect the Supply Chain Manager will be expected to develop knowledge and skills in the following key areas:
Supply Chain Management:
Planning
- Manage capacity through forecast and resource management
- Manage Internal and External resources to reach 95% on-time-delivery (OTD) with required flexibility to changes in demand
- Manage the data within ERP systems with global demand perspectives
- Communicate within the Chinese Customer Care (CCC) and the other XCC’s (worldwide equivalent centers)
- Manage the planning team
Purchasing
- Manage the outside subcontractors to at least same performance as internally
- Manage components and Printed Circuit Board Assembled (PCBA) sourcing to required capacity, quality, service levels
- Review, revise, optimize external subcontractors and supplier to more rationalization, lower costs/higher quality and global sourcing perspective
- Manage the Purchasing Team
- Participate within Integrated Production Development (IPD) to the development of new products
Inventory
- As a result of the above, manage inventory levels to high availability and high inventory turns, typical of a modern company
SELECTION CRITERIA:
The Company is looking for a result and decision-oriented individual, who can develop the existing business of the Company in a very competitive market place.
The candidate will be entrepreneurial, self-motivated, able to work independently and “hands on”, without a large structure behind but with support and direction from the company’s Operations Manager.
A young and dynamic, entreprenial, ambitious “climb the ladder” profile;
5 years as Senior Buyer in a multi-cultural company active in electronics and/or automotive;
5 years with a responsibility of team management in a related job;
Good knowledge of the quality tools ISO 9001; Knowledge of TS16949 or Six Sigma is an advantage;
International and multicultural communication & working experience;
Pro-active solution provider with initiative taking & proven negotiation skills;
Focus, organized and results-driven;
Knowledge about electronic components, mechanic parts, and magnetics is definitely an advantage;
Team oriented in a participative management structure;
Good IT skills, especially in the use of ERP system.
Integrity, Open
University or equivalent degree in a technical field (Electronics, Mechanics, or related)
Hands-on attitude and capability
Fluent in Chinese and English
Willing to travel

3. Working experience in the manufacturing industry; preferably in electronics
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with understanding that he/she is in the succession role

6. A person who is able to manage and work effectively in both multinational and local environments
Compensation: Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience, and will include a base salary, benefits and performance incentives.
