Position Title: Sales Manager, Life Sciences (Automation)
Department: Global Sales and Marketing
Report to: Sales Segment Lead
MAJOR DUTIES:
Promote and sell ATS Automation’s leading-edge engineering and manufacturing solutions and services to manufacturers and manufacturing departments of pharmaceutical, medical device and life science companies within Asia.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Meet and exceed specified annual dollar sales targets and approved levels of margin
• Maintain an active sales funnel of potential clients and prospects
• Develop strategic sales and marketing plans for each account and prospective client in conjunction with overall segment and organizational objectives
• Engage with the client on technical level to understand the client’s specific requirements and then in turn be able to present viable solutions
• Present recommendations on bids to senior management team
• Work in partnership with Applications Engineering and other engineering groups to devise and present the optimum manufacturing/automation solution for clients
• Leverage multiple sources to identify and qualify potential clients, such as cold-calling, personal and professional networks, contacts with existing or prospective clients etc.
• Act as first level customer liaison in all customer/company transactions and maintain
high level of customer satisfaction.
Maintain high level of customer satisfaction through direct contact and coordination
of internal company resources.
• Ensure that ATS Automation is consistently positioned as the leading and premier automation, integration and manufacturing company
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ten years of direct sales experience selling industrial automation products or related products, such as precision tooling, machine tools, special purpose machinery, industrial robots or industrial machine control systems (at least 3 years in life sciences, pharma or medical device segment)
• Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary education in sales, marketing, business or related field
• Proven track record of selling multi-million dollar custom designed automated manufacturing solutions into Life Sciences (Pharmaceutical/Medical Device) companies.
• Demonstrated “Hunter” mentality when it comes identifying prospects and turning them into clients
• Demonstrated effective negotiation and strong closing skills
• Strong presentation skills in order to present to internal stakeholders and existing and potential clients to sell technical concepts
• Experience managing, penetrating and securing key/major accounts or large multi-national accounts
• Demonstrated ability to access, negotiate and engage executives at the C-Suite level of target clients and prospects in large multinational organizations
• Must possess an active network of contacts in the relevant markets segment or segments in order to leverage multiple sales opportunities
• Experience in “solution sales” of capital equipment or industrial automation
• Must demonstrate the drive and motivation to sell and enjoy the challenge of selling in the industrial automation/manufacturing solutions industry
• Must exhibit self-directedness, independence and an extremely proactive approach
• Must be willing to travel frequently across Asia and occasionally internationally as required
