It was certainly not my intention to criticize the author when I wrote that post. Instead, I believe that Wu has done an outstanding job by creating such a vivid figure in her novel. I respectfully disagree with your guess that 关璐 is a reflection of Wu. There are at least three reasons to argue against your view. First of all, as a common knowledge, it is always very dangerous to assume that the main character in a novel resembles the writer herself. Second, Wu has written many excellent novels in which the key characters show different personalities. Third, although I do not know Wu personally, I have read many of her essays, poems, and posts (because I am one of her fans). My impression is that Wu is not like 关璐 at all. My prediction: Wu is not going to make any modifications on her novel because of my post. Wu is a very determined person and she knows what points she wants to make in the novel.
