Embedded devices are the fastest growing global market, outselling the PC market by a 4:1margin. With a charter of extending the power of Windows and the potential of the Cloud to the world of Specialized Devices,Windows EmbeddedBusiness (WEB) team releases technology that can address billons of devices that are scheduled to ship in coming years. The WEB organization is expanding in China with new positions located in Beijing. This is your opportunity to join a start-up team that is targeting next generation of devices in key market segments like connected media devices. This team will provide key applications and middleware technologies to the Windows Embedded product line to better enable OEM devices. The team is also strategically positioned in China to examine the China local market, as well asAsia regional market, in cooperation with the marketing and sales teams to create a local and regional business strategy.
The Windows Embedded Asia team is looking for seasoned PM’s with exceptional growth potential to help deliver technologies for embedded devices. Responsibilities include:
• Manage WEBprojects working with developers and testers ba<x>sed in Beijing to support timed releases.
• Working with external partners to define user experiences for key applications like browsing and connected services.
• Working with external partners to define user experiences for Windows applications that will provide outstanding integration between devices and the cloud.
• Working cross-group with your Redmond counterparts to deliver on the overall experience required by embedded device OEMs
• Contribute to local customer and partner engagements in concert with the business group’s customer and partner initiatives in order to expand our product influence in the global stage
The ideal candidate has:
• 5+ years of technology experience with an emphasis on program management or product development
• taken a team through two complete product development cycles
• practical experience demonstrating success at dealing with ambiguous problems and the ability to make solid progress when the solution is not well defined
• great cross group collaboration skills
• excellent organizational, verbal and written communication, and motivational skills
• demonstrated ability to think strategically and tactically about technical and cross-functional issues
• a BA/BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering or experience and training equivalent to a technical degree

The End User Computing Unit at VMware is looking for a Technical Program Manager in VMware’s Beijing R&D center. This position is responsible for building up and maintaining relationship with partners in China as well as some partners in Germany. Much of the work will be done in close collaboration with other VMware teams and strategic partners. This is an open-ended opportunity which will require excellent communication skills, good understanding to Virtualization and Cloud Calculation and deep Knowledge of.
Responsibilities:
* Setup trustful relationship with all strategic partners. Setup and maintain communication infrastructure with partners. Tracking partner dynamics and timely communicate to VMware R&D team
* Work together with other VMware R&D organizations and strategic partners to come up with partner cooperation plan and run against it
* Coordinate release plan and development progress between VMware R&D team and partners; Managing all the changes and issues related to partners software or products.
* Work together with VMware R&D team to resolve VMware software issues reported by partners; report bugs or issues to partners and track the resolution of these issues
* Planning for risk and developing strategies for dealing with potential risks as well as covering them
* Following the defined processes and policies as ordered by his seniors when communicating with partners
* Protect VMware intellectual property and avoid potential legal issues with partners
Requirements:
* 5+ years experience in project management and software development process
* 3+ years experience working with partners, vendors or customers
* Have good organization, presentation and customer service skills
* Strong English written and verbal communication, and good Mandarin verbal communication.
* Experience of USB Stack, print service or multimedia and implementation is a big plus
* Experience of commercial software product development
* Experience with several different application development environments (Linux/GTK, Win32, MAC OS X, etc).
* Experience with remote display protocols (RDP, ICA, RGS, etc), or remote device integration
* Experience with virtual desktop system and Thin Client is a big plus
* Experience with multiple chip architectures (x86, ARM)
* Quick learning, creative thinking and strong analytical skills
* Passion for work, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* BSCS, MSCS or equivalent Pluses
