Sr Manager QE will lead System Test & Automation teams focused on vSphere and Solutions testing. In addition to a strong technical background we are looking for a seasoned manager who has the relevant technical skills and soft skills to support team to obtain next level of excellence. Candidate must have proven record of mentoring/supporting senior engineers and first line managers in their career development. Must also have experience developing high levels of reusable test automaton to significantly improve test cycle time and/or cost reduction. He/She must have experience collaborating with remote teams in US and India.
Responsibilities:
* Work with development to determine QE requirements and test coverage and coverage with input from marketing and customer support.
* Work with other QE teams in Beijing, US, and India to ensure comprehensive test coverage and quality assurance of products
* Deliver high quality releases
* Provide high level technical directions and leadership to the team
* Input to planning timelines for both engineering and quality assurance.
* Standardize practices and procedures ba<x>sed on a software development methodology
* Drive implementation and usage of test automation
* Effectively work across multiple functions and geographies.
* Manage, coach and motivate team member to ensure a highly productive and efficient team
* Responsible for staffing, budget setting and resource management
Requirements:
* 4+ years in managing a diversified and high-performing engineering team.
* 8+ years of industrial experience with a significant portion of the experience in QE and QE management.
* Must be experienced in software development and QE methodology
* Excellent teamwork and leadership skills.
* Experience in managing a large team and hierarchy.
* Strong organizational, people management, project management and customer interaction skills.
* Must be able to prioritize and handle multiple outstanding tasks
* Strong communication. Fluent in English and Chinese.
* Solid knowledge on x86 architecture as well as Windows and Linux/Unix OSes
* Strong domain knowledge in operating systems and one of the following areas are highly desired.
* BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
