Washington State University anthropology professor Grover Krantz, shown in the photo at left, donated not only his bones but those of his Irish wolfhound, Clyde, to the Smithsonian to be used for teaching. Upon Krantz's death in 2002, his body was studied at the University of Tennessee. The skeletons are now on display at the Smithsonian.
