Roles and Responsibilities:
• Lead technical architect for Virtual Office as a Service (VOaaS) cloud computing solutions
• Possess strong product, technology and industry knowledge of the desktop and application virtualization domains
• Partner with offering architects to produce detailed conceptual and logical architectures that meet all business and technical requirements provided
• Understand functionality and capability of a core set of desktop and application virtualization tools and delivery models
• Function as the Global Architecture subject matter expert on VOaaS tools and technologies
• Collaborate with build engineers to produce detailed physical architectures that will lead to timely and successful deployment of management and automation systems
• Lead the definition and development of an future iterations of VOaaS capabilities
• Provide expertise and guidance on the configuration and deployment of VOaaS solutions
• Investigate and validate new tools as directed by offering architects and business requirements
• Completes assigned activities within schedule
Skills Required:
• Ability to create detailed conceptual, logical and physical architectures
• Ability to be concise, articulate, and assertive in all forms of communication
• Minimum of 7 years experience with Windows and Unix environments
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Hyper-V solution
• Knowledge and/or experience with leading destkop and application virtualization technologies from VMware, Citrix, etc…
• Knowledge and/or experience with network and delivery considerations for desktop and application virtualization solutions
• Familiarity with cloud delivery models and leading Cloud Service Providers for desktop and application virtualization solutions
• Knowledge and experience working in an ITIL driven environment
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to deal with partners and peers located worldwide
• A solid understanding of full lifecycle solution development
• Understanding of Data Center and network operations, server administration processes, and network and communication protocols
Preferred Education and Work Experience
• Bachelor’s degree with a focus in applied sciences or engineering from leading institutes
• Experience at an ISP or with managed services supporting external clients and service level agreements
• 7+ years of work experience in IT related field with strong Microsoft emphasis
• 5+ years of work experience translating business and functional requirements into technical architectures
• One or more Microsoft certification (preferably with Hyper-V)
• One or more virtualization-related certifications a plus
• Exposure to TOGAF 9 and ArchiMate a plus
